Crit D: Making Connections
What is the assessment criteria looking for?
An effective identification and critical analysis of the connections, similarities and differences between the selected artworks, objects and artifacts.
At the highest level of achievement, the work critically analyses the connections, similarities and differences between the selected pieces. These connections are logical and coherent, showing a thorough understanding of how the pieces compare.
How can I do that?
Look beyond the canvas and look at each layer of the piece. Tell me how they fit together and find the less obvious, more important connections.
What could that look like?
In this first example below, we can clearly see comparisons between the three artworks and it is broken down into subsections using subheadings:
