The foundation courses are essentially a transitional experience in art, design and communication, preparing students for higher level courses.

The Cambridge IGCSE Art & Design syllabus aims to encourage a personal response by stimulating imagination, sensitivity, conceptual thinking, powers of observation and analytical ability. The emphasis of the course is heavily reliant on the students' ability of observational drawing.

IB Visual Arts is a demanding, two-year course of study in which students create a body of work that demonstrates a solid understanding of the vocabulary of the artist. Rather than gardening students to become great artists, the aim of the course is for students to think like great artists.
